Keep your eyes on the Rotary Corner! We have submitted an article entitled "What is Rotary?". As well we are thrilled about our two newest members - Alison Trenholm and Carolyn Henshall. We will be announcing their induction to club in the Rotary Corner too! Watch out for the group photos from their inductions!
The membership committee is asking each member to submit the name of someone they think may enjoy membership in our club and make a great Rotarian . A classification list was recently handed out showing the makeup of our club. There are a number of occupations/classifications not currently in our club, i .e. private investigations, home planning/design services, home support services, notary public, resort spas/fishing resorts - just to name a few. One of the things to come out of last year's member's retreat was that the membership wanted diversification. Hopefully this exercise will be a step in that direction. It was clear at the first membership meeting of the year that there was no appetite to grow our membership "by leaps and bounds". Having said that, our numbers decline each year via resignations, for example, and we need to ensure we have new members joining the club just to maintain our current numbers.
The names you submit will be collected and reviewed by the membership committee. The membership committee can approach the individual to tell them about Rotary and see if they would like to come to a meeting. Alternatively, if the member wishes to approach that individual themselves, they can certainly do that. We want to assure each member they need not feel saddled with doing this on their own!
Take a look at the classification list, see if you know someone from an occupation that is not currently in our club makeup, and email the individual's name, phone number and occupation to Kelly, the membership chair.
